A visit from the Golden Girls
We were so excited to have the Ladies from West Point Golden Club visit us at the farm this week. After the visit from the Cambelltown Ladies Probus Club, word is getting around about our home made scones (with fresh cream) and lemon butter, and alpaca experience here at Horsham Farm. Our guests stopped by for a spot of morning tea and an introduction to alpaca farming. We shared with them tales of life on the farm, alpaca fun facts and tips for keeping and raising alpacas.
We were in luck as our alpacas were rather hungry and the ladies from the Golden Club had the chance to see the animals up close at feeding time. For most, it was the first time they had taken part in feeding time for the alpacas, and their faces said it all. There were smiles all round as the girls hand fed the alpacas. The highlight of the day for this group was seeing the new alpaca mums with thier new cria (alpaca babies). With the breeding season well under way this year, there were plenty of warm fuzzy moments as our guests spent time at the alpaca nursery.
Few went home empty handed and many a coles shopping bag was filled with home made jams, alpaca scarves, fleece samples and tales to tell of farm adventures. Another fabulous morning tea at the farm thanks to the Golden Girls!
